Google Latitude

There seems to have been more  fuss than usual with the new Google application, Google Latitute. I have signed up and have used it with my Google Mobile Maps. It is an extension of 'My Location' on Mobile Maps. You can see your location on your mobile, within a few hundred metres, using Google Maps and Latitude allows you to share this with anyone you choose, although they need to have a Google account. I can appreciate that Latitude could be viewed as a step towards 'Big Brother' control but it is far from that. You can control who has access and turn it off at any time. It did make it as a piece on Radio 4' Today programme and the Daily Telegraph so middle England is starting to take an interest in Google apps. I am not sure if that is good or bad new for Google!
